Two engines available for optimal performance
There are two engines that could be under the hood of the 2021 Kia Forte. The first is a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that is standard on the FE, LXS, GT-Line, and EX trims. This engine can produce up to 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The second engine is a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine that is standard on the GT and GT Manual. This engine is able to deliver up to 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged engine also comes with a Sport-Tuned Dual Exhaust.
These two engines have three transmissions that could be paired with them. First, is a 6-speed manual transmission that is standard on the FE and GT Manual trims. Second, is an Intelligent Variable Transmission with Sportmatic® that is standard on the LXS, GT-Line, and EX trims. This transmission is also available on the FE trims. The final transmission is a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shifters. This transmission is standard on the GT trim only.
