Kia offers the 2025 Niro Hybrid in LX, EX, EX Touring, SX, and SX Touring trim levels. Each bears the brand's distinctive two-tone tiger nose grille, measures 174 inches long, 71.8 inches wide, and 60.8 inches tall, and has a 107.1-inch wheelbase. Roof rails are optional on the LX and included on the other models. The LX, EX, and SX have 16-inch aero alloy wheels, which the Touring trims swap out for 18-inch gloss black alloys with a machined finish. Rear privacy glass is standard across the lineup. The EX Touring, SX, and SX Touring boast a sunroof with a power sunshade, and the latter two models feature a smart power liftgate.

The Niro combines a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produce 139 horsepower and a punchy 195 pound-feet of torque, providing ample zip for highway merging while maintaining fuel economy. Its six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission shifts surprisingly crisply, delivering responsiveness that rivals gas-powered competitors. The front-wheel-drive setup maximizes efficiency and minimizes maintenance.

The LX and EX accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 8.9 seconds — not race car quick but ample for daily driving. On the skidpad, the Niro pulls around 0.87g. Its light weight and good suspension give it surprising agility for a hybrid crossover, and it handles sudden lane changes confidently. It stops from 70 mph in 168 feet. Drive mode select offers Sport and Eco settings. Hill-start assist helps on steep inclines, and electronic stability control enhances traction and braking. While it tops out at 106 mph, the Niro excels with its smooth, quiet efficiency.

The cabin features 102 cubic feet of passenger volume, with 22.8 cubic feet behind the rear seats for groceries or bags, expanding to 63.7 cubic feet with seats folded. An 8-inch touchscreen display is standard on the LX, while the EX and higher upgrade to a 10.25-inch setup with built-in navigation.

Materials vary depending on the trim and include SynTex and cloth seat trim in the EX models and perforated SynTex in the SX varinats. The EX Touring boasts gloss black dash trim and alloy pedals, the SX includes a head-up display, and the SX Touring features a front passenger relaxation seat for ultimate comfort.

Standard safety features across the Niro lineup include forward collision avoidance assist and blind-spot collision warning. All but the LX have Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go – Curve, and highway driving assist, which reduces fatigue by handling some driving tasks on compatible highways. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the 2025 Kia Niro Hybrid a five-star overall safety rating.
